Weeks Four & Five -- February 8th & 9th & 15th & 16th, 2005 So two weeks have past since I last reported on AI, and the Final 24 have now been selected. Next week, these guys'll start crooning like lunatics, all to earn the love of America. Are you as excited as I am?!? Who's in this fun bunch? *David Brown, 20 -- He was one of my picks from the early audition rounds. What a VOICE! Damn. I want him to win the whole damn competition... dammit. Anthony Fedorov *Anthony Fedorov, 19 -- I think this is the guy who's being dubbed "Clay Jr." Do we need another sorta cute, big-voiced boy as our American Idol? If you answered yes to this question, then Anthony's your man. *Judd Harris, 27 -- I'm not particularly impressed yet. *Constantine Maroulis, 29 -- He's a rocker. He's hot. He has long hair, and actually appears to wash it. But rockers just don't do too well on AI... think Nikki McKibbin or Matthew Rogers. But who's to say? *Joseph Murena, 26 -- He seemed REALLY surprised to have gotten through. *Bo Bice, 29 -- aka "That Other Rocker." Anwar Robinson *Anwar F. Robinson, 25 -- Oh, baby. This guy is amazing. He's a music teacher... how adorable is that? And I love the hair. *Scott Savol, 28 -- I don't get it. He looks perpetually mad. Typically, America votes for the sweet-natured, girl- (or boy)-next-door, happy types, sooo... Maybe the competition will give him some exposure, but I don't expect to see him even get into the top 12. *Nikko Smith, 22 -- Not enough info. at this time. *Travis Tucker, 21 -- Just didn't think he was that great. But the competition is still young, so who knows. *Mario Vazquez, 27 -- He's gorgeous as can be, but that probably won't help him. Jared Yates *Jared Yates, 18 -- Look at those amazing eyes. Look at them! Mmmm. *Amanda Avila, 23 -- She's another one I liked from the start. Good, strong voice. *Lindsey Cardinale, 20 -- I wasn't impressed with her audition, and I'm surprised she's gotten this far. But I'm not discounting her yet. *Janay Castine, 17 -- Has a supportive mama, very pretty... haven't heard her sing. *Mikalah Gordon, 17 -- Sometimes Mikalah gets a little excited. And by "excited", I mean there is no more coffee at Starbucks... the girl has consumed it all. AND NOW SHE WILL COME FOR YOU. *Melinda Lira, 19 -- Not enough info. *Sarah Mather, 22 -- I like her. Good voice + apparent genuine niceness = good. *Aloha Mischeaux, 18 -- Has a happy and fun personality, but I haven't heard her sing. *Celena Rae, 29 -- One of the seemingly quieter, less bubbly contestants, but still sounds good. *Jessica Sierra, 19 -- She has a mature voice with a little bit of a twang. *Vonzell Solomon, 20 -- Seems nice. Don't know much else. *Nadia Turner, 28 -- Seems sweet. Carrie Underwood *Carrie Underwood, 21 -- I love her. If America is looking for a country-esque Kelly Clarkson, they should look no further than Carrie. * * * This week, the competition lost Jamie Paul Koehler, who I would like to give a shout out to for having the most adorable smile in the entire competition. MAN you look like Mario Lopez. Stop that! And what happened to the other people I picked? Only 4 of my 9 made it to the Top 24! Melissa Walton -- No idea. I haven't seen her since the first week. Regina Brooks -- Was cut pretty quickly in Hollywood. :( Marlea Stroman -- Willingly dropped out of the competition, when in Hollywood. Jennifer Todd -- Made it really far, but was in one of the infamous "rooms" that got cut. Justin Clark -- Unsure.
