Present #2 ![]() AN ALLIGATORJUICE QUIZ! Well, nobody won the gift card, but that's okay. I get to keep the money! Yeah baby! Anyway, in case you're interested, here are the original questions -- and their answers. ------------------------ If you were to search AJ's archive by date, specifically in the 2003-2004 range, you'd find the article Fun With Fish. The candy in question: Swedish Fish! 2. Which second-season (2003) American Idol contestant did I despise (and write about)? - 1 point Another date clue to help you out. This one's from December, 2003, and the person in question is Kimberly Caldwell. The article: Loathing Kimberly. I had some issues I needed to vent. 3. Despite being a fan of the show, I've only ever written one Survivor article. Who was the winner of that season of Survivor? (Hint: it's one of the people in the screencaps.) - 1 point Though I don't mention in the article what season it is (I do in the feature's description in the Title Index, though) googling "survivor" along with the names of the contestants I mentioned will bring you lots of hits for Survivor: All-Stars, and the answer isn't too far out of your reach at that point. The winner of Survivor: All-Stars? The notorious Amber. 4. During the 2003-2004 television season, there were 2 new TV shows I loved that both got cancelled prematurely. I've written about them both. What were they? - 1 point for each This one was tricky, but not impossible. Your best bet would have been to visit the TV & Film section, because -- since they were both TV shows, obv -- their articles reside in this section. The first is Going Bananas, from December 2003, and the show was Tarzan. I also mentioned Tarzan's cancelation (and my disappointment over it) in the 2006 article Goodbye, WB.... The other show in question was Wonderfalls, which I talked about in the May, 2005 feature The Wonder Of It All. 5. Why did Garfield's Halloween Adventure scare me as a child? Or, more specifically, who scared me? - 1 point Googling "alligatorjuice garfield's halloween adventure" brings up 2 entries -- this page, and the page where you can find the answer, the 2005 feature My First Video. Who was I scared of? The creepy old guy, of course! (Also grandfather clocks and midnight, but those were secondary fears.) 6. I've been to many author booksignings/talks, but I've only written about two of them on AJ. Who are these writers I met & wrote about? (Hint: one is also an actor.) - 1 point for each (EDIT: Okay, I remembered I've actually written about three booksignings, not two. Eh, just name any 2 writers I've met and written about on AJ and it'll count.) You'll find one of the answers in the Books section. The article is Peter And The Starcatchers, from January, 2005. The writers were Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. Over in the People section, you'll find two more writers I've met & talked about: Bruce Campbell and Meg Cabot. 7. How many smushed pennies did I own in August, 2004? - 1 point Googling "alligatorjuice smushed pennies" will lead you to the answer: in the article The Joy Of The Smushed Penny Machine, I showed a picture of all my pennies and gave their value. At the time, I had twenty. 8. What nickname did my cousin and I, as kids, give the Prince from Disney's Beauty and the Beast? - 1 point Google to the rescue -- again! "alligatorjuice beauty and the beast" leads you to Human Again, one of my first features. Our nickname for the Prince: "Prince Ug." 9. Who were the hosts of the 1996 Family Film Awards? - 1 point Back to the Title Index, search for "Family Film Awards," and there it is: Family Values. There is a picture of the three hosts, as well as their names -- Beau Bridges, Anna Chlumsky, and Joey Lawrence. 10. In 2005, I visited a tourist attraction in Canada and wrote about it. In which province was this tourist attraction located? - 1 point Typically when I write about my travels, they go in the Life section. There are only 5 "Life" articles from 2005, and only one is about a trip to Canada: All For A Mall. The place in question was the West Edmonton Mall. The province is Alberta. ![]() |
