EPISODE 6

I filmed a lot of stuff for episode 6 that I didn't end up using. Before I decided on the "Ella is upset because they don't have a tree" plot, I'd thought about a "Ella is upset because it hasn't snowed" storyline. But that has so been done.

Even so, I filmed this scene where Ella and Gus are at the park, and it starts to snow!

And Ella's all "Wow, miracles CAN happen!" I am so glad I deleted this scene.

Sure, the snow's pretty, but...

I would've hated myself for it.

Here they are building a snowman, awww. I reserve the right to make them build snowmen in a future episode. Juuust... not at Christmastime. Cliche much?

Then I built a toy store.

An entire freakin' toy store. And I had no plot to go with it. I thought Ella and Gus could shop there -- maybe buy something for the twins -- but I didn't know where else to go with that storyline.

Then I thought, maybe Gus or Ella could work there -- the owner could be Gus's aunt or something.

But that plot didn't develop either.

I may use the toy store in a future episode. I wouldn't want all that color to go to waste!

Heck yeah, video games!

Oh, and then there was this short-lived plot idea. Here's Ella, sitting in class. She's got one of those teachers that's all into peace, goodwill, and harmony, and who makes the kids sit on carpet squares.

The teacher makes the students randomly take a tag off a special tree. The tag has a person's name on it, and for all of December you have to do nice things for that person. Of course Ella picks Burk's name.

I swear, the amount of plotlines I use that involve Burk, I wouldn't be surprised if he and Ella are soulmates or something.

KIDDING.
