I get a lot of questions about how I did certain things or where I got certain items you see in the episodes, so I thought I'd post some of the most-frequenty-asked questions here! If you think I missed anything, please let me know!
*Where did you get the fireworks/sparklers/poppers? (As seen in Ella's Wild Ride)
All those things come with the "Happy Holiday Stuff" pack. Actually, when I originally bought Sims 2, I bought the Sims 2 Holiday edition, which included both the game and this pack, so that's why I have these objects.
*Where did you get the rollerink/skating rink?
They came with the "Seasons" expansion pack.
*Where did you get those pajamas, that outfit, whatever?
It's way too difficult to pinpoint what outfit came with which expansion pack, and at this point I have a lot of them (see the chart.) Maybe the chart can help you narrow things down (ie, if you saw the outfit in episode 4, then it's definitely NOT in an E.P. I purchased afterward.)
One thing I get asked about often, though, is the pajamas Ella began wearing in episode 5. Those are from the Teen Style Stuff expansion pack.
*Where did you get the Christmas tree and other holiday decorations?
Just like the fireworks, these came with the "Happy Holiday Stuff" pack. You can get it on Amazon.com.
*Where did you get the school/Enchanted Kindom/Lake Meriwether campground?
I built them from scratch on a residential lot in Ella's neighborhood.
*How can you see the other houses in the neighborhood when you're at Ella's house?
There is an option in the trusty options menu (when you're playing in a Sim's house) for showing or hiding neighbors. Naturally you want to show them!
*How can Ella walk to Gus's house and vice versa?
She doesn't... at least, not exactly like you see on the show. When I want to show Ella walking to Gus's, I film her walking toward his house (on her own lot.) Then, I have an adult Sim move out of the house, taking Ella with them. To move out, the adult must click on a computer or a newspaper and select "Find Own Place." Then they have to be sure to take Ella with them. From the Neighborhood view, I move Ella & the adult onto Gus's lot. Then I film Ella walking from the edge of his lot toward his house. Edited together, you'd never know there was so much work involved, would you?
