| ![]() We're Just Like Travelocity, Only More Annoying!
![]() Yet another series of commercials with annoying couples. Why, why, and why!?! I'm so sick of this format, but whatever. Okay, so the expedia.com commercials basically show two people planning a vacation. One person is on the computer searching for places to go. He or she tells his or her significant other that they can stay here, or go here, or blah blah blah, and then they start daydreaming about how horrible where they want to go might be and change their mind. I think they're maybe sort of supposed to be funny. Hmmm. Anyway, this particular commercial features a guy who asks his wife/gf if she wants to try surfing and she's like hell yeah and then the guy imagines that the surfing lessons will lead to hot rompin' beach fun between guy's wife and the wife's surfing instructor. These people have really wacked out imaginations, I'm telling ya. Ignoring the lameness of the commercial itself, I would like to point out why this commercial scares me more than any other expedia.com ad: ![]() ![]() That's the guy's wife/gf. Is it just me, or does she look like she had an unfortunate run-in with a rogue mascara bottle? She frightens me on such high levels... ![]() Look, even the guy is scared! Anyway, so... Effective? No. Overplayed? Yes. Obnoxious/Loud Music? No. Sexist/Gender Stereotyping? No. Extreme cheesiness? The convo between the girlfriend and the surfing instructor. Blech. Repetition of annoying catch phrase or tune? YES. OMG go away expedia.com. Use of talking animals or other things that shouldn't talk? No. Use of disturbing images? See photos.
