MAN SHOT, WOUNDED AT THE GAP
by A. Carter

An attempted (alleged) khaki theft lead to a shooting at the Goose Valley Mall this morning at 10:38 am. Security guard Warren Pruitt did the shooting; alleged shoplifter Matthew Iverson did the falling down and almost dying from the pain of the rubber bullets that were sent whizzing toward his body by the squeezing of the trigger by Warren Pruitt’s fingers.

When we at WNN arrived on the scene, we found Mr. Iverson moaning in agony. We immediately interviewed a Gap employee, who told us that Mr. Iverson walked into the Gap, put a pair of khakis on over his sweatpants, and then “strutted” out of the store. Employees then called security, who came and shot Mr. Iverson.

“He was shot in cold blood,” said witness Stephanie Iverson. “Well, maybe not blood exactly. But that security guard was way out of line. We . . . I mean he . . . should sue.”

Mr. Pruitt claims he only shot the victim because the victim was carrying a knife and was "waving it around."

“He was most certainly not carrying a knife,” said witness Britney Iverson. “If there had been one, I would have seen one, and there wasn’t one. Whoever said that is just out to get my -- I mean . . . er, that guy who got shot. Whoever he is. I don’t know him . . . I mean why would I? I am just passing through, minding my own business.”

Police are investigating the incident.
